Discover The GX7 – Electric Row Monitoring Solution ISOBUS

Since 2013, AgXcel has experimented with electric row monitor systems. Throughout the years, we have tried controllers from other manufacturers and several types of flowmeters. We would commonly run into a lack of features & capabilities provided by other controllers. After a couple of years, we decided to invest in our own electronic row monitor system. What we have to show for that is the GX7.

The GX7 from AgXcel is an ISOBUS compatible Electronic Row Monitor System that utilizes Magnetic Flowmeters to monitor the flow rate of each row. Since the GX7 is ISOBUS compatible, we are able to display through the Virtual Terminal of your existing monitor. No need for an additional controller & harnessing in the cab. Just switch a page on your monitor and quickly check your flow rates per row.

AgXcel has tested several types of flowmeters, and largely when we first started making our own row monitor system, we were using turbine flowmeters per row. We quickly found out that the small turbine flowmeters that are used per row will get plugged often, especially when using infurrow fertilizers like biologicals, humic acids, carbons, molasses like liquids, & even 10-34-0. So for the past decade, we have been using Magnetic Flowmeters to monitor the flow per row. The biggest advantage of Magnetic Flowmeters is that there are no moving components to measure flow. Since there are no moving components, there is nothing inside of the flowmeter body to catch debris or microbes to cause blockages. Why invest in a row blockage monitor system that creates blockages?

Multiflow Flowmeter

How does a magnetic flowmeter work? The liquid you are using acts as a conductor. The coils in the flowmeter create a magnetic field across the internal pipe. As the conductive fluid flows through this magnetic field, it generates a small voltage for the electrodes in the internal pipe wall which will detect this voltage. The flowmeter is then able to convert this voltage into flow rate.

With the Magnetic Flowmeters, we are able to read to the hundredth decimal of an ounce per row. We can display in Gallons, Liters, & Ounces per row to fit your measuring preference. The GX7 also has the ability to connect to the Task Controller, meaning that we are able to read the rate from a compatible liquid controller and track that flow rate for a prescription rate scenario. Along with being able to track section control through the task controller. If you prefer to not connect to the task controller, then we can still track section valves status to prevent the GX7 from telling you that rows are blocked, when a section valve is actually just shut off to prevent an overlapping application.

Even more advantages of using the GX7 from AgXcel

Replace your existing disk orifices with microtubing!

  • Utilize Microtubing that has an inside diameter 2x – 4x larger than the comparable disk orifice size needed for your application
  • Use larger 20 mesh filters at the pump to allow more particles to pass through the pump & eliminate filters at each row
  • Enjoy a hassle free, plugging free fertilizer setup
