The best pump for vApply HD & vApply Base
PWM controlled Diaphragm Pumps have been proven to be the best pumps available for Infurrow Starter planter applications and also for 2×2 Nitrogen applications. AgXcel provides a diaphragm pump for both of these applications. The most popular model sold is the GX5 LFP80, rated for down to 0.5 GPM and up to 18 GPM. When translated to Gallons per Acre, that means you could apply as low as 1.7 GPA at 5 MPH with a 12R 30” planter. And from there, AgXcel provides three more models, making a total of four GX5 diaphragm pump models available to meet both your flow range and price range.
AgXcel has been able to address several concern related to adding another hydraulic product to your planting setup. Every year, more and more guys are running to hydraulic flow issues. Maybe they don’t have enough remotes available, or maybe they are limited on hydraulic flow capacity. AgXcel’s diaphragm pumps only use as much hydraulic flow as what is needed, meaning you are not needing to send more flow to the GX5 pumps, causing not only more flow usage but also heating up your hydraulics. With the several models of GX5 pumps that AgXcel offers, we can also size your pump so you are using as little hydraulic flow as possible. Commonly, when guys are using a GX5 for infurrow applications, they are only using 2 GPM of hydraulic flow.
Another advantage of the AgXcel GX5 diaphragm pumps is that the GX5 does not have to be connected to its own remote on the tractor. We also see more and more guys every year that will “T” off of the blower on the planter, or maybe “T” off of downforce or the row markers.
Also available is an RPM sensor built into our motor. So the GX5 can be used with vApply Base.
Lastly, all GX5 diaphragm pump setups include both the hydraulic motor and PWM. While some competitors don’t provide either the motor or PWM, or if they do, the motor does not match the RPM rating of the pump, leading to higher hydraulic flow usage and possibly not achieving the desired target rate.
